The Nice Guys (2016) Review

The Nice Guys (2016) Crime & Mystery

Neither of the main characters in the Nice guys are police officers, but the film certainly falls into the familiar "buddy COP" formula that we've seen time and time again-twomismatched guys who don't like each other and have little in common, are forced to worktogether to solve the case. We've seen this story a few dozen times before. However, The Nice guys is the latest film from Shane black, who is the undisputed master "frenemies"solve the case style action/comedy. He's like a chef who always makes the same dish, buttastes so good that you don't care.

The first red band trailer for The Nice guys here, and it looks like the film Shane blackthrough and though. Which is a good thing, because it's really, really good at making movies.

Nice guys following criminal Fixer type (Russell Crowe) who finds himself drawn into the mystery surrounding the suicide of a young woman. Naturally only the guy who can help him is seemingly incompetent private detective (Ryan Gosling), who he had previouslydisbanded as part of another work. Can the two put aside their differences to solve the case,Battle the crowd and escape in the Los Angeles underworld 1977 with their lives? Probably, but a whole bunch of people probably would die in transit.

And this red band trailer filled with language and nudity and violence. So if you're working in a corner Cabinet, wait to see this one at home.
Let's break out Shane black bingo cards, shall we? Two mismatched lead characters, forced to work together. Check out. The central mystery that sounds simple, but soon finds himselfdeeper than anyone expected. Check out. Random, the tough-guy posturing from thecharacter, whose bite is as strong as its bark. Check out. With the pitch dark comedy a touch of extreme violence. Check out. When it comes to hitting beats Shane Black, this filmonly missing "set during Christmas.

Black is, of course, the screenwriter, best known for writing the Christmas set "buddy COPaction comedy mystery" as lethal weapons and the long Kiss Goodnight. Most recently, heis the Guide, Helming a Christmas set "buddy COP action-comedy" mystery as Kiss KissBang Bang and, uh, Iron Man 3. Even when he makes films for Marvel, black sticks to hiswheelhouse.

But why should he leave when that steering is a perfect spot to showcase his caustic wit, unique eye for action and unmatched ability to write punchy, mean-spirited banter? If The Nice guys can capture the same combination of dirty noir and wild comedy that made theKiss Kiss Bang Bang is a modern classic, then it might be something special. It seems thatCrowe and Gosling real thing/Robert Downey Jr. Val Kilmer, occurs in this trailer.
